Iron Wings
Iron Wings: WWII Arcade-Action Air Combat
Step into the cockpits of two daring pilots, Jack and Amelia, in "Iron Wings," an action-packed WWII arcade air combat game. Players are thrust into a detailed campaign rich with missions that demand both sharp shooting skills and tactical prowess. Each mission is layered with primary and side objectives that challenge players to strategize their attacks effectively.
"Iron Wings" is more than just a flying shooter; it's an engaging arcade experience where merely shooting isn't enough. Each plane is equipped with unique weapons and tools that play crucial roles in mission success. Players must make strategic decisions about how to use these tools, including when and how to switch control between the two pilots to best manage the battlefield.
The aircraft are outfitted with special equipment like Chaffs and Magnetrons for radar countermeasures, a Photo Camera for capturing key visuals, a Search Light for night missions, and other vital tools waiting to be deployed. Choosing the right camouflage can also reduce visibility to enemies, minimizing damage and enhancing survival chances.
The narrative of "Iron Wings" follows Jack and Amelia, childhood friends who enlist in a special air force squadron led by Colonel David Ruse. Their mission is to thwart General Adler and the 'Ahnenerbe'—a clandestine group of Nazi archaeologists and scientists. The game kicks off at a fundraising event in New York and quickly escalates to major wartime operations, beginning with Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily, and extending to significant battles across Europe.
Players will navigate both aerial and ground missions, spanning from a meticulously recreated 1940s New York to various real-life battlefields across Europe, including Sicily, Naples, Poland, and Germany.
